The city of the little Düssel and the great Rhine
Düsseldorf takes its name from the little Düssel river. The old town preserves traces of a medieval settlement, town rights granted in 1288 and a princely residence. The Rhine connected those local stories with a wider world.
Patronage of art, Japanese community life, contemporary museums and a transformed harbour added successive cultural layers. Between the old town and MedienHafen you can read several portraits of the city.
Our investigation is a fictional way to connect real places. Twisted-spire legends are not historical explanations; current opening and interior access must be checked with the institutions.
