From Red Dot follow visitor signs west towards Kokerei. Use open paths and the Ringpromenade Zollverein to the coking complex’s western side. The point is beside the public ring trail: observe from the path and detour around closed Kokereiallee sections without crossing barriers.
The required observation is from a public area. Do not cross barriers during a temporary closure.

History
The coking plant heated coal without air to produce coke for ironmaking. Long oven batteries and lines of machinery show the system’s scale. Preserving them as heritage gives the site a new life without erasing hard labour or industry’s environmental cost.
