History

The synagogue opened in 1913 to a design by Edmund Körner. Its interior was devastated in the November 1938 pogrom. The surviving building was later reused; since 2010 it has housed the House of Jewish Culture. Preserving a shell and preserving the memory of its community are different responsibilities.
