From the washery’s lower escalator approach return to the open visitor paths by Shaft XII plaza and head northeast following Red Dot Design Museum signs. The Kesselhaus boiler house, building A7, is on the eastern side of the ensemble. Stop outside its accessible main entrance; do not cross technical barriers.
The required observation is from a public area. Do not cross barriers during a temporary closure.

History
The former boiler house now contains a museum of contemporary industrial design. Heavy machinery and everyday objects join the same history of making. It reveals a shift from a building that powered production to a place that asks how objects are designed.
