History
From the hill below the Kremlin you can take in the entire façade. Two colonnaded wings meet at a lofty arch crowned by an openwork dome. Built in 2010 for Tatarstan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the palace borrows its grand scale from European ceremonial architecture and its decoration from farm life. Agricultural scenes appear in relief on the walls. Inside is a collection of old tools, household objects, photographs and documents. The tree spreading its branches over the square is twenty metres tall and cast in bronze.
